Season 4 of Person of Interest returns from its hiatus break after closing up its epic and action-packed trilogy on CBS. With Shaw (Sarah Shahi)'s whereabouts unknown, will Finch (Michael Emerson), and Reese (Jim Caviezel) find themselves 'M.I.A.' as well by Samaritan?

In the first part of our recap, Samaritan wanted to meet with Root (Amy Acker) and sent in its avatar, a little boy named Gabriel. Seeing The Machine as a fallen God, Samaritan would take its place and promised to enslave humanity, in order to protect it. Samaritan unleashed a virus onto Wall Street and forced the stocks trade to take a nosedive.

In the second part of our recap, the Machine had to come up with a simulation where Root and the others survived a deadly shootout. Unfortunately, Martine and her operatives arrived ahead of time. In their last moment together, Shaw (Shahi) kissed Root before sacrificing herself to save them. Root screamed as she watched Martine point her gun at Shaw's head.

In the third part of our recap, Root and Reese captured Control (Camryn Mannheim) to find out where Samaritan is keeping Shaw. Unfortunately, Control didn't know anything, especially how Samaritan caused the stock market crash. Control discovered Finch was telling the truth; she is being used by the Artificial Intelligence and kept in the dark.

According to TV Line, while Team Machine is searching for Shaw, Lt. Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) has to team-up with a former POI. Undercover Internal Affairs officer, Dani Silva (Adria Arjona), has been transferred to Gangs Division. Could this mean their investigation is on a collision course with the war between Dominic and Elias?
