Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi Inspires 'Snookiville Law' to Regulate Reality Filming in Jersey Shore Areas
While some consider her thoroughly entertaining, others view MTV's "Jersey Shore" reality star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi as just plain obnoxious. Apparently one New Jersey state legislator is also fed-up with all the reality show hoopla surrounding the infamous GTL cast of the "Jersey Shore" - Ocean County Assemblyman Ronald Dancer is prepared to enforce some filming regulations with what he has come to deem the "Snookiville" law.
Dancer introduced his proposed bill (named after the notorious "Jersey Shore" self-described meatball) to New Jersey legislation on Monday. The provisions listed in the "Snookiville" law would help to regulate reality television show filming throughout many New Jersey counties and towns. Dancer's proposed bill would enable towns to impose fees on reality show producers, with the excuse that such costs would help to enforce greater public-safety measures, such as hiring additional police officers for shoots. Not such a bad idea, considering the hectic environment that imbued New Jersey's popular Seaside boardwalk after its "Jersey Shore" fame.
No information has yet to be released as to whether New Jersey legislators are seriously contemplating the proposed "Snookiville" law. Dancer can let go a sigh of relief knowing that the "Jersey Shore" crew has just wrapped up its final season at Seaside Heights this summer - "Jersey Shore" season six ("the final season") premieres on MTV Thursday, Oct. 4.
