Lingerie Football League Claims NFL Referee Replacement Was Previously Fired From LFL
Lingerie Football League commissioner Mitch Mortaza spoke out on Tuesday Sept. 25, 2012 that the National Football League referee replacement Craig Ochoa, once worked for LFL. Mortaza claimed that Ochoa was fired from his job at LFL for being incompetent at job.
He told Yahoo Sports that "It was a bit of a shock to see guys that couldn't officiate in our league were officiating in the NFL."
A statement was also released on New York Daily News after the NFL game between the Seahawks vs. Packers that read, "Due to several on-field occurrences of incompetent officiating, we chose to part ways with a crew which apparently is now officiating in the NFL. We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations..."
"We have not made public comment to date because we felt it was not our place to do so. However in light of tonight's event, we felt it was only fair that NFL fans knew the truth as to who are officiating these games."
Mayor James Schmitt of Green Bay, home to the NFL team Packers, wrote a letter of complaint to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell after the recent NFL game. TMZ reportedly obtained a copy of the letter and reported that "the Mayor claims the NFL's elite status is being 'threatened by less than qualified officials who are not quite at the same level as the rest of the league's representatives.'"
The letter also stated that Monday night's "game creates a negative perception on the NFL brand, which in turn jeopardizes the Packers' chance for success as well as the potential to negatively affect our local economy."
What do you think? Should Ochoa stay or go?
