Carrie Ann Inaba and Jesse Sloan Breakup: 'DWTS' Judge Remains Positive after Broken Engagement
In a recent Access Hollywood interview, the popular "Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba opened up about her breakup and broken engagement with former fiancé Jesse Sloan. Although the two didn't get married, even after a highly-publicized proposal on "Live! With Regis and Kelly" back in March 2011, Inaba claims she is still very good friends with her former accountant beau. A "DWTS" representative announced Inaba and Sloan's split earlier this month.
"We didn't get married... Sometimes you find out that you're not right for each other and that's what happened," the 44-year-old dancer/choreographer told hosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live. Inaba goes on to explain, "The hardest part was his daughter... What's amazing is that we're still really, really close friends. At 44, people might be scared to break it off... You always have to follow your heart... I really just like to follow what's true in my heart and this is where it's lead me."
While the Inaba-Sloan split came as a shock to many fans, the native-Hawaiian is staying positive and healthy and still sees a bright future ahead: "I have to believe that there is something wonderful out there for me. And I just keep moving forward. Now I get to work out every day, I go to the gym and I work out with this new trainer... I'm feeling really good. It was sort of a restart... that's lucky to have that opportunity."
