In Arnold Schwarzenegger's newly released memoir "Total Recall," the 65-year-old actor admits to having a "hot affair" with actress/model Brigitte Nielsen while filming the 1985 action film "Red Sonja." Schwarzenegger was involved in a relationship with now ex-wife Maria Shriver at the time of the affair, and the couple (who went on to have a 25-year marriage) had already been living together.

Nielsen starred alongside Schwarzenegger in the sword-and-sorcery film "Red Sonja" - in a memoir published by the 49-year-old Danish actress last year, she admitted to having an "outrageous affair" with the "Terminator" star while making the movie, and didn't know of his relationship with Shiver until afterwards.

Now in Schwarzenegger's own memoir "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story'," (which hits shelves today - Monday, Oct. 1), he fesses up to the Nielsen love affair rumors, but insists he knew that it wouldn't last. Schwarzenegger actually swears that the fling brought him closer to Shriver and made him realize that he did want to marry her. In the meantime, Nielsen would go on to marry (then divorce) fellow action star Sylvester Stallone.

In "Total Recall," Schwarzenegger opens up about his longtime relationship with Shriver and his run as California state governor. The book is part of an effort made by the former bodybuilder to help rebrand his image - especially after a number of allegations were made against him in regards to sexual misconduct, the most embarrassing concerning the revelation about a fling he had with the family housekeeper. It was revealed last year that Schwarzenegger had fathered a "secret" son with this housekeeper (Patricia Baena); the former "Mr. Universe" insists that he feels he has let this now 14-year-old boy down too.

Schwarzenegger recently did an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" to discuss the memoir and confess to his multiple affairs (he insists his sexual relationship with Baena was indeed the "stupidest" decision he ever made). Shriver is said to be furious with her ex-husband for talking about her reaction to his new book during the "tell-all" interview, considering she did not receive an advance copy of the autobiography all and was not contacted by "60 Minutes" to give her reaction and tell her own side of the story.

Although much of "Total Recall" is about their relationship, Schwarzenegger doesn't plan on sharing any of the sale profits with Shriver.
