Conan O’Brien Cuba Episode: TBS Host Films ‘CONAN’ Overseas for First Time Since 1959 ‘Tonight Show’ Jack Paar, Fidel Castro Interview

Conan O'Brien is heading to Cuba! Well, technically he already went there. But the episode of TBS' CONAN he filmed overseas will air this coming March 4. Yes, it's being reported that the red-headed late night show host took advantage of that newfound embargo release and decided to film an episode of his famed television show where few Americans dared to venture. It's reportedly the first time since The Tonight Show host Jack Paar did so back in 1959, when he apparently interviewed the newly-brought-to-power Fidel Castro.

Via a release from the CONAN crew, "O'Brien experienced multiple days taking in the sights, sounds and culture of the country.

"The trip gives the CONAN audience a rare glimpse into the daily life of a country not often seen by American viewers."

As HuffPost Comedy notes, President Obama recently announced this past Dec. 2014 that the United States would now be in "normalized relations" with the controversial (to some) country.

Perhaps O'Brien is using his position in the world of comedy to lighten the shaky past the United States and Cuba have had.

Readers, will it work?
