Al Gore Blames Altitude for Obama's Disappointing 2012 Presidential Debate Performance in Denver [VIDEO]

The first bout of the 2012 Presidential Debates didn't impress many viewers on Wednesday evening - especially the rather disappointing performance by current President Barack Obama. And what does former Democratic Vice President Al Gore have to say about it? Obama's lackluster debate discourse can only be blamed on Denver's high altitude, of course! According to Gore, Romney had more time to adjust to the change in oxygen levels, so it's no surprise that he was better-prepared. Looks like Obama might have better luck next time being in New York!

Following Wednesday evening's Presidential Debate (Oct. 3), Gore appeared on Current TV to discuss and analyze the heated event. While he didn't blatantly share which nominee he personally thought did a better job, he did say this: "I'm going to say something controversial here. Obama arrived in Denver at 2 p.m. today - just a few hours before the debate started. Romney did his debate prep in Denver. When you go to 5,000 feet, and you only have a few hours to adjust - I don't know..."

Current TV host Cenk Uygur didn't seem to buy Gore's theory: "I just came from L.A. the same day. You know what I did? I drank two cups of coffee before coming out here."

So was Gore just attempting a joke to make light of Obama's rather dismal performance? Or is that really what he thinks - Denver's altitude messed with Obama's head?

Current TV host (and comedian) John Fugelsang did admit that he once had a similar experience doing standup comedy in Denver, so maybe Obama did have an off night because of the change in altitude? Looks like Gore might be on to something here...
