BBC Renews 'The Fall' For Season 3 [WATCH TEASER TRAILER] Jamie Dornan & Gillian Anderson Thriller Series Returns After Cliffhanger Finale Episode [SPOILERS]

The BBC announced this week that The Fall, the network's very popular crime thriller starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, has been renewed for a third season! After 2014's season two finale cliffhanger, fans of the series a re desperate for new episodes, and we've learned this week that next year we'll get our wish. Also popular on Netflix in the States, The Fall is created, written and directed by Allan Cubitt, who this week expressed his excitement about the new season.

"The cliffhanger ending of season two was conceived in the hope of further exploring the characters and the themes that are at the heart of The Fall. We're grateful to be given this opportunity by the BBC," Cubitt said in a press release, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

BBC Two controller Kim Shillinglaw has commissioned the new season.

"I want program makers to come to BBC Two to do their most distinctive and signature work," she said. "I'm therefore delighted that Allan Cubitt and the team are bringing The Fall back for a third series, demonstrating once again the continued strength of drama on the channel."

Along with this announcement, the BBC released a great new teaser trailer for the new season, showcasing the season two cliffhanger that fans can't stop talking about.
