This week, Disney held its annual shareholders meeting, resulting in a number of great movie announcements. Despite hearing recently from directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee that Frozen 2 should be considered far off from production, we learned today from the studio's Chief Creative Officer, John Lasseter announced the sequel would start production soon! CEO Bob Iger and one of the film's voice actor Josh Gad were in attendance as well.

This news comes just before the release of Frozen Fever, a short film that reunites the movie's characters, which will premiere ahead of Cinderella this weekend.

"We enjoyed making Frozen Fever so much and being back in that world with those characters," said Lasseter. "Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we're taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that."

So what else can we expect from this sequel? According to reports, this announcement was not followed by any release date, production or plot details. We'll just have to wait and see what happens!
