[UPDATE] 'Fashion Police' is "Going On Hiatus" After Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne Exit. Did Giuliana Rancic Finally Quit?

Did someone at Fashion Police just get fired? Us Magazine reports that following co-hosts Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin's recent exits from the show, E! announced that Fashion Police won't be coming back. At least, for now. After rumors of a potential Fashion Police cancellation, and later a potential recast, the network released a statement on Tuesday saying the show is "going on hiatus and will return in September. We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season." 

At this point, a much-needed hiatus could the only option left to ensure the show's survival, but the prospect of making a return to the network doesn't seem certain. Initially, after Griffin announced her departure from the show, E! released a statement saying Fashion Police would "continue as scheduled," so it's hard to say if "hiatus" doesn't actually mean "cancelled." It's also possible that either Rancic or co-host Brad Goresky, the only two Fashion Police co-hosts who remained after Osbourne and Griffin quit, decided to quit themselves, or were quietly let go by the network, but that's purely speculation.

Fashion Police had undergone drastic changes following the late Joan Rivers' death, who epitomized the irreverent, snarky tone of the show. Griffin was brought on to replace Rivers, joining co-hosts Rancic, Goresky, and Osbourne, who later left the show unexpectedly in the midst of the controversy surrounding Rancic's comments about Zendaya Coleman's dreadlocks at the Oscars. Griffin made her own exit shortly after due to reasons related to the Zendaya comments. Fashion Police is set to return this fall, according to E!, but the network hasn't announced what exactly the new Fashion Police will look like, or what to expect from the renovated series.
