Dean of Students, John Fanning Dance Battles With Students: Takes On Senior, Norris Ogbuagu In Hilarious Battle [Watch Video]
Dean of Students John Fanning gave a senior at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School the surprise of his life.During a senior prank, Senior, Norris Ogbuagu jumped in Fanning's face and began to do an urban dance called "Footwork," looking for a battle dance off. What Ogbuagu and other students surrounding the teacher didn't expect was that he would accept the challenge and do the Irish Jig.
The students laughed and yelled in approval as he showed off his skills. In an interview with Good Morning America, Fanning was asked where did he learn how to dance like that and he said, "When I was a kid I did Irish dancing, but haven't done it since I was ten."
When the senior, Ogbuagu was asked if he was worried about getting in trouble he admitted, "I was actually so scared that he was going to write me up right there and then."
Fanning added, "It's one of those things you get angry or have fun and jump in with him, and it was harmless fun, a good senior prank so I figured lets jump in and have fun with it." Since showing off his Irish skills, the students gave their beloved dean a new name and dubbed him, "Lord of The Dance."
Always great to see teacher and student interaction in the classroom and on the dance floor!
