The East Coast has yet to experience the brunt of Hurricane Sandy 2012 yet, but already a majority of Jersey Shore hot spots are under water because of major floods brought about by the dangerous Super Storm. Atlantic City, Ocean City, Wildwood, and Cape May are just some of the major areas already devastated by the strong winds, rising tides, and harsh rainfalls - parts of the infamous Atlantic City boardwalk have already been ripped up and carried off to sea. Many parts of the Jersey Shore (especially directly on the coast) have issued evacuations. For those in Atlantic City, there is a mandatory 6 p.m. emergency curfew. Many infamous Jersey Shore boardwalks, including Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant, Long Branch, Atlantic Ciy, and Wildwood, are currently being pummeled by heavy winds and strong tides. As of 2 p.m. on Monday, Gov. Chris Christie announced Hurricane Sandy has knocked out electricity in about 35,000 homes in New Jersey so far.

The National Weather Service stationed in Mt. Holly, N.J., warns that the center of the storm is poised to make a direct hit on New Jersey later this evening, causing mass devastation up and down the state. Wave swells are only expected to rise when high tide rolls in later on Monday (Oct. 29). Even so, many NJ residents insist such devastations will not deter their spirits and that the Garden State will indeed recover (even "Jersey Shore" star JWoww thinks so):

@JENNIWOWW: "Jersey stay strong we got this. play in the puddles afterwards like we did as kids."

@lindsay_bohling: "Jersey shore stay strong #dontletsandygetyou."

‏@TheGoodCarMah: "If New Jersey can survive the Snooki and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast, then it can survive some chick named Sandy #Frankenstorm."

Authorities advice that people remain indoors.
