Even though author Stieg Larsson died in 2004, his amazing talent lives on in his The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo book series. In fact, 11 years after his death, we've learned that the fourth book in the franchise has officially been announced, but with a new writer taking the helm. Acclaimed novelist David Lagercrantz has delivered the newest chapter of the Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist stories, The Girl in the Spider's Web. Perhaps this new book will reinvigorate the recently abandoned David Fincher movie franchise based on the books?

"Stieg Larsson was a master at creating complex narratives- narratives made all the more forceful because of the journalistic authority with which they were originally written," the new author said in a statement published by NPR, according to Vulture. "That was something that informed my approach to book four, and I'm confident Millennium readers will identify with the storylines in Spider's Web."

Despite some controversy over a new writer taking over for Larsson, the late author's father and brother released a statement, explaining that Lagercrantz is the write man to take over.

"We see it as a way of offering his many readers the continuation they have been longing for," the statement read. "We chose David Lagercrantz because we think he is highly suited to the task."
