Sam Gordon, 9-year-old Girl Football Player on All-Boys Pee Wee Team, Shines in Amazing Highlight Reel [VIDEO]
Sam Gordon, 9, is the only girl football player on the all-male pee wee team the Gremlins in Salt Lake City, Utah - but little Gordon can sure kick it with the boys. Gordon may be the smallest member on her team, but she can run as fast and tackle as hard as any of the boys. Her dad, Brent Gordon, was so impressed with his youngster's skills that he compiled an awesome highlight reel that was eventually posted on YouTube entitled "Girl Football Player is Fast and Fun to Watch!" The four-minute clip has become a viral sensation, with many viewers shocked and impressed at young Gordon's speed, agility, and ability to deliver one mean tackle - as well as her ability to receive one just as brutally.
Check out Gordon (aka "Sweet Feet") shine in the amazing highlight reel here. Father Brent told Yahoo! Sports, "With Sam, I keep questioning myself, 'Am I trying to make it something it's not because I'm her dad?' I asked my brother, 'OK, I am I just being a crazy dad here? Or is this really cool?'" Yeah, it's that you're daughter's pretty awesome (and yes, that's really her playing):
Sam Gordon - who finished off her 2012 football season with 35 touchdowns, 232 carries at 1,911 yards, and 65 tackles - participated in the Greater Salt Lake City's Ute Conference in the Gremlins league, comprised mostly of 9-year-old boys. She was ultimately made the starting quarterback of her team after proving her impressive skills out on the field.
What's most shocking - this was Gordon's first year playing football (she used to be a fan of soccer). According to Brent, little Gordon first achieved her impressive speed as a means of "keeping up" with her older brother. And Brent insists that Sam isn't afraid to take a mean tackle to help her team get ahead - "[Sam told me] 'Some kids, right before the contact, they stop. I don't. I just hit 'em.' That's not something I taught her."
