Nicki Minaj's ex-boyfriend, Safaree Smauels hints that he wrote her rhymes in a recent interview with VladTV. The "It Is What It Is" rapper dished that he gave up his career after years of trying to break into the industry and decided to support his former girlfriend of 12-years.

During the interview, Vlad asked Safaree if the pair wrote together and the "Bruner" rap star remained mute and for an awkward amount of time before saying, "She does her stuff. She does what she gotta do."

"I wasn't working on my stuff at all. It just seemed more sense to put my all into something that was on its way up." He added, "It wouldn't have made any sense."

In January, the former hypeman opened up about his frustrations over Nicki's "corny" comments following their break up on Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club.and revealed that he helped her write her music.

"I would never do anything publicly to try to pull her down. Whatever happened between me and her, one-on-one, it is what it is... I just think it's crazy for her to come out now and try to be pulling me down and say I'm corny. I don't care who you with." He continued, "Who you wit that don't mean nothing to me. I want you to move on because I'm moving on, I walked away from the situation.

Safaree admitted that he ended their relationship because he began to feel disrespected because she started treating him as an employee, "I walked away. I'm not gonna say I broke up. I'm the one that packed my stuff and I left."

He explained, "It just got to the point where the respect was gone. Everyone around her works for her, so it got to the point 'I'm you're man, I'm the one you to sleep with every night, I'm who you wake up with every morning' and it got to the point where I was being treated like an employee instead of her man."

"I never planned on talking about anything, I never was going to but to publicly to try to pull me down that's just like when I'm like 'Yo, you getting ridiculous. I don't try to publicly pull you down in no way." He added, "All I've done was to uplift you publicly. When I'm going putting tattoos of your face all over my body and showing the world. I think you're the most amazing person you are at what you do. I would say it when it's just me and her or I would say it on a stage in front of 20,000 people," he said.
