Jerry Springer Dead? No! Victim of Ongoing Death Hoax 2012, Talk Show Host Alive and Well, Comments on David Petraeus Scandal
Rumors have been circulating since early September that popular daytime talk show host Jerry Springer is dead, victim of a fatal car crash. Such reports are completely and utterly false - Springer is yet another victim of a morbid 2012 celebrity death hoax. In fact, the 68-year-old host of the "Jerry Springer Show" recently appeared on an episode of Chicago's WCIU "You and Me Morning Show," where he had something to say about the highly-controversial David Petraeus affair scandal.
The prank news website Global Associated News posted this bogus report on Sept. 6, 2012, reporting that Springer had died in a tragic car crash. Check it out:
"(Local Team News 9) Jerry Springer died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident - November 17, 2012 (the date changes daily to make it seem as if the death hoax victim passed away "today").
Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Jerry Springer lost control while driving a friend's vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly.
The vehicle was believed to have been traveling at approximately 95 miles per hour in a 55mph zone at the time of the accident.
Witnesses have stated that Jerry Springer's car crossed the double lines several times prior to the accident and hit the center lane divider causing the vehicle to flip and roll."
Once the fake death report went viral on the web, "R.I.P Jerry Springer" and "Is Jerry Springer Dead?" began trending on popular social networking sites including Twitter and Facebook. Other celebs victim of recent death hoaxes includes Adam Sandler, Morgan Freeman, Eddie Murphy, and many others. Although false rumors of Springer's death hit the internet in early September, they just recently began trending again on popular social media sites. To reiterate to all fans once again - Jerry Springer is NOT dead.
In fact, Springer recently appeared on the local Chicago talk show "You and Me Morning Show," where he put in his two-cents about the infamous David Petraeus scandal (the former CIA director recently resigned after admitting to an extramarital affair):
"I have always said that there is no difference between the people on my show and virtually everybody else. It's just some people dress better, have more money, have higher titles, but this idea that just because people are of low income they are morally less than people that are rich and powerful - it's garbage. ... We like to say, 'Oh those people on the 'Springer' show, we're not like them,' it's garbage. The top people in the country are like them."
Yup, Springer is indeed still alive and kicking!
