'Black Mass' Movie Trailer [VIDEO] Johnny Depp Is Ganster Whitey Bulger In 2015 Film
Black Mass is the upcoming 2015 film based on the life of notorious gangster Whitey Bulger, who turned FBI informant later in his life. Starring Johnny Depp in the leading role, this new movie looks like mobster movies of old, with a modern take and a career redefined performance for the Donny Brasco actor. This week, the first trailer for the movie dropped, showing us just how menacing Depp can be as Bulger, even while at a great dinner! Watch this trailer below.

Besides Depp, who looks terrifying in this new trailer, we see that this movie has an all-star cast that includes Joel Edgerton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson, Peter Sarsgaard, Jesse Plemons, Corey Stoll, Rory Cochrane, Sienna Miller, Adam Scott and more.
We're not saying that Depp's more recent movies like Mortdecai, The Lone Ranger or the Pirates of the Caribbean films aren't good, but we've been waiting for another great character study taken on by the actor for too long. From the looks of this trailer, Depp really becomes Bulger in front of the camera, telling us this violent story in only the way he can.

Here is a synopsis for Black Mass (via Sash Film):
In 1970s South Boston, FBI Agent John Connolly (Joel Edgerton) persuades Irish mobster James "Whitey" Bulger (Johnny Depp) to collaborate with the FBI and eliminate a common enemy: the Italian mob. The drama tells the true story of this unholy alliance, which spiraled out of control, allowing Whitey to evade law enforcement, consolidate power, and become one of the most ruthless and powerful gangsters in Boston history.
