John Travolta Sued by Alleged Gay Lover: Former Pilot Doug Gotterba 'Never Signed Confidentiality Agreement' to Keep Affair Secret
John Travolta's former private pilot Doug Gotterba is suing the 58-year-old actor after receiving a rather threatening letter from his Hollywood attorney Marty Singer in regards to Gotterba recently dishing details about an alleged secret gay love affair with the "Saturday Night Fever" star. In the lawsuit, Gotterba claims that he never signed any sort of confidentiality agreement that would stop him from talking to the media - therefore he had every right to gossip about his steamy gay romance with Travolta. Meanwhile, Travolta's crew insists that Gotterba's claims are totally ridiculous - both about the contract and scandalous love affair.
Gotterba, who allegedly served as Travolta's personal pilot from 1981-1987, recently filed the lawsuit claiming that Singer threatened to sue him for violating a confidentiality agreement he signed when he stopped working for Travolta. But apparently Gotterba never legally agreed to such a contract, and therefore has the right to share all the juicy, intimate details he wants about Travolta - specifically in a tell-all memoir he is supposedly writing. Gotterba claims that he had a six-year, steamy relationship with the actor throughout his employment up until 1987 (Travolta then married actress Kelly Preston four years later).
Gotterba received the threatening letter from Singer promptly following his interview with the National Enquirer, where he first dished about the supposed gay love affair. That's when Gotterba counter sued, in hopes that if he does share intimate details about Trovalta in an upcoming book he won't have to fear getting sued back.
The former pilot insists that he did nothing wrong by signing a termination contract - an agreement that mentioned nothing about confidentiality. But Singer is calling foul, and insists that Gotterba did indeed violate his legal contract. Singer claims, Singer adds, "Mr. Gotterba obviously filed this lawsuit to get his 15 minutes of fame. We plan to get this meritless case promptly dismissed."
So what do Mstarz fans think about the lawsuit and this supposed John Travolta gay love affair? Not to mention, why would Gotterba bring this all up now, 25 years after the fact? No word from Travolta yet, but surely more details will surface soon.
