FX has announced the July premiere date for Season 2 of The Strain. Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, are Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) ready to hunt after The Master again?

The first season followed Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Maestro) as they discovered a deadly vampire plague spreading across New York City. During their search for a cure, an old and retired vampire hunter, Abraham Setrakian, (David Bradley) and a rat exterminator, Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand), join the crusade to defeat the ancient evil. They must all work together to save the world from The Master and his minions, including Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel).

As we previously mentioned, two short teaser promos were recently released. Both teasers featured an ordinary-looking person slowly transforming into a blooduscker. An official trailer with new footage was also released.

According to TV Line, the logline reads, "It can no longer be denied - New York City is rapidly falling to an evil epidemic, and no one is coming to its rescue. Its citizens must fight or die. Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Stoll) and his unlikely allies tried to take down the embodiment of this evil - the Master - and failed."

Eph and Dr. Nora Martinez (Maestro) are focused on on creating a biological weapon to wipe out the creatures, while Abraham Setrakian (Bradley) searches for an ancient book he hopes will reveal the strigoi's entire history. Meanwhile, the Master is out for revenge, unleashing an even more terrifying breeds of bloodthirsty creatures.

In the upcoming season, Eph and his team have to defeat The Master before the infection spreads too far, or else they become monsters themselves.
