'Clash of Clans' Takes Over Lives of UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman, Donald Cerrone

Not only is UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman the gem of Nassau County on Long Island, he's also one of the top cash crops for the mobile game Clash of Clans. The game's developers should be happy to know that Weidman and fellow fighter Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone spend hundreds of dollars on a clip in order to have the best possible clan they can have.

During a conversation on UFC's Embedded series, both fighters had a conversation about Clash of Clans.

"How's your clan coming along?" Cerrone asked before UFC 187.

"I'm actually... I gotta stop spending so much money," Weidman answered.

"I spent a hundred dollars at the pool yesterday," Cerrone said.

"I taught myself I'm done spending money but then there are these times where I'm like, 'You know what? Who cares? I'm gonna make myself happy!'"

"I can go to the movies with my girlfriend and get some popcorn or I can spend $50 on this game. It makes me just as happy," Cerrone said.

Right now, Clash of Clans might be one of the most popular mobile games on the market. It may even be up there with the likes of Angry Birds by now. One of the big tells in the game's popularity is its Facebook and Twitter accounts. On Facebook, Clash of Clans has more than 12 million followers while on Twitter it has 887,000. With Weidman and Cerrone nerding out about it so much it might get even more popular now.

Celebrity endorsements are nothing new for Clash of Clans. During one Super Bowl commercial Liam Neeson was seen playing the game waiting on line in a coffee shop. The commercial was a parody of his new movie Taken 3.

Will you be playing Clash of Clans now?
