Eli Roth's Cannibal Horror Movie 'Green Inferno' 2015 Release Date News: In Theaters in Sept!

Ever since we first heard of filmmaker Eli Roth's horror movie project The Green Inferno, our hair has been standing on end. Unfortunately, the film's release date has been pushed back for quite some time, with the possibility of it being completely killed before hitting theaters. We do have some good news for those interested in the imaginative cannibal movie, though: it's hitting theaters in 2015 thanks to current horror movie super studio Blumhouse Productions!

According to Roth's Facebook post about the news, Blumhouse has "saved" the project on its new off-shoot studio BH Tilt, giving the film a Sept. 25 release date in theaters. You can check out this post, complete with a personal video from the director talking about The Green Inferno, right here:

This new studio from Blumhouse was recently explained in a new press release from the producer and founder Jason Blum.

"When we launched BH Tilt we said our goal was to be part of the continuing evolution of distribution, whether it is through changing marketing strategies, changing revenue sources or changing windows," the filmmaker said, according to Slash Film. "We are excited to capitalize on new developments in distribution and marketing to bring Eli's movie to horror lovers across the country."

The Green Inferno stars Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Aaron Burns, and Kirby Bliss Blanton as student activists that get captured by a cannibalistic South African tribe while traveling in the Amazon. Watch a terrifying trailer for this new movie right here:
