Rapper Kendrick Lamar invites suicidal teen on stage with him after she reveals his music saved her life during his Sweetlife Festival in Columbia, Maryland.

A girl named Claire stood front row in the Compton rapper's concert and began telling him about her personal struggles while he performed "A.D.H.D."

"This young lady been through a whole lot in her life. She was telling me some stuff down there that was real sh*t. And the things that she said always remind me why I do this sh*t. At first I was selfish I only did this sh*t for myself and my homies. But I do it for young ladies like this and all of y'all out there. Real sh*t."

Backstage, Claire told MTV exactly what she told the "I" rapper, "I told him I was gonna kill myself, and I think his music was the main reason that I didn't," Claire said. "Because I had myself - and my music."

Kendrick explained that he wanted her to share her story and let her understand that he gets it, "[I wanted to] bring her backstage and let her tell her story," he added "Let her know, it's more than just me bringing you onstage - I actually feel you. Because that's why I do my music."

He continued, "And every time I see something like that, it reminds me why I do what I do. It was just crazy. She came back here, we signed some stuff for her, talked to her for a little bit, and told her to keep going."
