'The X-Files' Revival Spoilers: Is David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson's Mulder & Scully Premiere "Intense?"

Back by popular demand, the iconic sci-fi/horror series will premiere on Fox in 2016. When paranormal investigators Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) return in the highly anticipated revival of The X-Files, will they have an "intense" season premiere?

As we previously mentioned, 13 years have passed since FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully were on the TV screen solving weird and supernatural cases. The reboot of Fox's popular sci-fi series continues with 6 brand new episodes. Not only are the leads set to reprise their iconic roles, creator Chris Carter will takeover as showrunner for the franchise that launched his and many other careers.

In an interview with TV Line, Anderson is already at work on the third episode and describes the season premiere, "Slow. Intense. And it's setting groundwork, so it's got a particular role to play. It does exactly what it needs to do. What's a single word for fulfilling that requirement? 'Functional'? 'Appropriate'? 'Functional' works. Slow, intense and functional!"

The Hannibal actress describes reprising her breakout role, "She's older! She aged! Anything I say is going to sound like something you're not going to want to watch. But that's not the case, it's just... I don't even know. That's a hard one. I appreciate the question, but I can't answer it."

We also mentioned, the show is nominated for 2015 MTV Fandom Awards. For Best Revival Fandom, The X-Files is in competition with Fuller House, Ghostbusters, Twin Peaks, Mad Max: Fury Road and Jurassic World.
