5 Reasons Miles Morales' 'Spider-Man' #1 After Marvel Comics' 'Secret Wars' Excites Us!
Marvel Comics has big plans for Miles Morales, the amazing wall-crawler from the Ultimate Universe, after their summer event, Secret Wars. With a new Peter Parker in town, readers want to know what writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sarah Pichelli have in store for Spider-Man #1.
As we previously mentioned, the first issue of Secret Wars brought about the destruction of Marvel and Ultimate Universe. Miles Morales and the rest of the heroes of the Ultimate Universe must work together to stop their final extinction. What will happen 8 months later after the ashes from Secret Wars rises and the dust settles from the aftermath?
We have 5 reasons why we're excited about Miles Morales in Spider-Man #1:
5) The Creative Team Reunited!
The Powers writer and the Guardians of the Galaxy artist worked with each other during the Ultimate Spider-Man run. This team went all out with the emotions and actions during the death of Ultimate Universe's Peter Parker. Now that they're back to reinventing Miles after Secret Wars, what epic catastrophe, must-see event, and big bad do they have in store for the newbie hero?
4) Back To The Series' Roots!
Peter Parker is just too old to be a teenager. Miles is an in-betweener in his own coming-of-age tale. Morales is also an minority, which gives him unique experiences for Bendis to write about and Pichelli to depict. We mentioned before, Milles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man went into Donnie Brasco/ French Connection territory when the father, Jefferson Davis, was given a flashback story.
3) Somebody's A Winner In Ultimate End!
As we previously mentioned, Miles has a new special power that may or may not be beneficial to Secret Wars. But just because Miles survives, that doesn't mean he's coming out of it unscathed. Could his father end up being a causality? Could Ganke end up dead somehow? Miles has to learn with there's no escaping the tragic lesson; with great power, comes great responsibility.
2) Someone New In Town
We also mentioned, Miles finds himself in a different New York, one that's not his own and yet so similar Miles patrols the rooftops of a New York City, but it's very different from the one he knew. This is a world where Miles is counted among the ranks of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the all-new, all-different Avengers, which is now led by the Captain America, Sam Wilson aka The Falcon.
1) Two For The Price Of One!
Remember when Miles Morales and Peter Parker teamed up for Spider-Men? This was a great way to introduce longtime readers into the Ultimate Universe. Change isn't a bad thing, especially when it means a new direction. The times are a -changing as they say and you don't want to be left behind.
Spider-Man #1 arrives in stores during Fall 2015.
