The Saltzman family has done a lot to spread James Bond franchise. Harry Saltzman is the series' longtime film producer and now his daughter, Merry Saltzman, is bringing Bond to Broadway as a musical. Saltzman made the big reveal to Playbill and her company, Placeholder Productions, secured the rights to bring Bond to the stage. The musical will feature music from Jay Henry Weisz and a book by Dave Clarke. The play won't be following the stories of Goldfinger, Dr. No, Casino Royale, You Only Live Twice or the new film, Spectre. It will be its own separate entity and will have an original story.

As of now, there is no cast. It's so early in the Bond Broadway play's production that there isn't even any speculation as to who will play Bond or his Bond girl. Saltzman's company hopes to bring the play to life by late 2017 or early 2018.

Before the Bond play, the Broadway fans of the series only have to wait until November for Spectre to hit the big screen. That movie will, of course, star Daniel Craig. Joining him will be Ralph Fiennes, M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny, Ben Wishaw as Q, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner and Christoph Waltz as the villain, Franz Oberhauser.

Also in the film is former WWE Champion and current Guardians of the Galaxy star, Dave Bautista. Bautista will be playing the villain, Mr. Hinx.

The film was directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan.
