Who knew that the answer to being a happier person was merely watching The Today Show? Okay, maybe it's not that simple, but we did learn some juicy tips from host Hoda Kotb earlier this morning while she was speaking with anchor Matt Lauer. The two were discussing being happy people and living a happier life, and Kotb filled Lauer in on five things she does every single day in order to be happy.

So, we can all thank Hoda Kotb for being our happiness guru – for today, that is. Until we totally forget to do the things tomorrow and continue to wonder why we're incessantly cantankerous.

"I do five things every day to be happy," Kotb told Lauer. You're supposed to write down three things you're grateful for; you're supposed to write something great that happened in the last 24 hours; a little exercise; a little meditation; and you're supposed to do one random act of kindness."

Lauer, looking all too bored interested, responded afterwards, "How could you not be happy?"

Take a look at the video below:

Following Lauer and Kotb's segment, apparently this happened:

So, again, here's what you should do every day if you want to be a happier person:

1. Write Down 3 Things You Are Grateful For
2. Write Something Great That Happened To You Today
3. Exercise
4. Meditate
5. Perform One Random Act of Kindness

Go on, readers, get happy!
