Bill Cosby Disney World Statue Being Removed Following Rape Confession

After putting the Internet in flames just a few days ago (and victims around the world kind of at ease) with the release of documents in which comedian Bill Cosby admits to raping women by giving them Quaaludes years ago, it looks like the folks at Walt Disney World have decided his fate. At least, on their grounds. The famed theme park has decided to remove the statue of Cosby from their Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame plaza.

Per a report from Orlando Sentinel, a spokeswoman has officially confirmed that the park will be removing the statue in lieu of the recent documents that were released.

This past Monday, reports came about that held Cosby's comments from a 2005 deposition. The comedian was asked: "When you got the Quaaludes, was it in your mind that you were going to use these Quaaludes for young women that you wanted to have sex with?"

He responded with a simple, "Yes."

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the decision to take down Cosby's statue started, not only because of the documents, but also because of Brittany Gavrilova, the aunt of one of Cosby's supposed victims. She created an online petition over six months ago that tried to get the statue taken down.

On the Orlando news station WESH, Gavrilova said, "To not be able to walk through Disney without having that difficult encounter, it makes me sad."
