Rosie Perez 'The View' Replacement Michelle Collins Joining Raven Symone

Rosie Perez might have just made her exit from The View earlier this week, but it seems like producers already have an idea in their heads of who they want to fill the star's shoes. It was announced last month that Raven Symone would be filling one of the empty spots alongside Whoopi Goldberg and Nicolle Wallace, but her addition also led many to question who was going to take up the other empty chair. Well today it was revealed that the team behind the ABC morning show is looking at comedian Michelle Collins to join the cast of hosts.

According to Radar Online, Collins is definitely in the lead for the spot, and producters have been looking at her since they formulated plans to let Rosie go back in January.

"They love her!" an insider explained to the news site. However, they did add that while she is definitely a frontrunner, "there's not anything official planned yet."

However, the site is reporting that the execs are really smitten with Michelle and saying that they even like her better than Raven Symone, who just joined the series.

"She's the favorite all the way, even more than Raven Symone," the insider explained.

The casting news will be finalized in the next couple weeks. The current season is coming to an end on August 6, which will be when Rosie Perez will be taking her final bow.

Entertainment Weekly is also reporting that Michelle is looking very likely to join the series. Her past credits have included appearances on Kathy Griffin's Bravo talk show, as well as Chelsea Lately and The Tyra Banks Show.
