Ahead of the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con events this week, the BBC released a brand new photo of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in character as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson in the Christmas Special for the popular Stephen Moffat series, Sherlock. We know that this special episode is set way before the modern day series' episodes, which will return for season four next year. From what we can tell, these two leading men definitely pull off their new outfits quite well. They'll need to, considering the Victorian era adventures we'll be seeing them in this holiday season!

In case you need a little refresher about this special event episode, Moffat spelled it all out earlier this year at SXSW.
"The special is its own thing," Moffat stated earlier this year, according to Entertainment Weekly. "We wouldn't have done the story we're doing, and the way we're doing it, if we didn't have this special. It's not part of the run of three episodes. So we had this to do it - as we could hardly conceal - it's Victorian. [Co-creator Mark Gatiss] and me, we wanted to do this, but it had to be a special, it had to be separate entity on its own. It's kind of in its own little bubble."
