Colin Cowherd Follows Bill Simmons, Leaves ESPN Radio: Headed To Fox Sports?

This year, ESPN announced Bill Simmons was leaving the sports brand he called home for more than a decade. Now another high-profile host is also leaving. Colin Cowherd of the popular radio show The Herd is walking out the door right behind Simmons. Of course, while its unknown where Simmons is headed, Cowherd may already have a home. He is currently talking to Fox Sports in hopes of landing a gig there.

ESPN had a positive send-off for their once former host.

"We've enjoyed a mutually beneficial run with Colin for over a decade," the company said in a statement. "He came to national prominence on ESPN with his unique perspective on sports and society. Endings also bring new beginnings, for ESPN and Colin, and we thank him and wish him the best."

You can check out one of Colin's most recent interviews on his ESPN show right here:

Ryan Glasspiegel of the Big Lead says Cowherd is working on a deal but nothing is set just yet. The possibility of him ending up there though is pretty substantial as Jamie Horowitz, one of the heads of Fox, worked with Cowherd as a producer on his Sports Nation television show on ESPN. That could be a deciding factor in all this.

Not only is Cowherd and Simmons gone from ESPN, another big name is gone. Keith Olbermann and the sports network were also unable to sign a deal. In less than a year the company lost three of its biggest names. This is either a rebuilding phase for ESPN or a sign of things to come.

Where do you think Cowherd will end up? Will it be with Fox Sports or somewhere else entirely? Will he join forces with Simmons, ending up with their own network? Let us know what you think of this recent sports news in the comments section below!
