Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Swift: No 'Bad Blood' for 'Southpaw' Hunk & "Beautiful" Ex-Girlfriend

If you're trying to get Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal to talk trash on his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, you'll probably get nowhere fast! The Nightcrawler actor sat down for an interview on Howard Stern's SeriusXM talk radio show this week to talk about his new movie Southpaw (in theaters now!), when the conversation took a turn to his personal life and dating past. Though Stern thought he'd get a good quote from Gyllenhaal on the "Bad Blood" songstress, the actor refused to speak ill of Swift and even called her a "beautiful girl!" Earlier in the week, Jake stopped by ABC's Good Morning America early hours talk show to promote Southpaw, but was awkwardly introduced with Swift's hit single "Bad Blood" playing in the background (via Cambio). Stern brought this up during their more recent interview, explaining to Jake that social media thought this song choice was pretty funny and asking if the actor was aware of this.

Gyllenhaal laughed off this question with a simple, "no," and then explained, "First of all, I did not hear that. When I'm doing an interview, when you are up at 5 a.m. and you can't make sense of words, you're not thinking about the background music that's playing behind you."

Us Weekly claims Jake was being "coy" during the interview with Stern, but from what we can tell he was genuine in his responses.

"I'm sure they have so much music on that show playing all the time," Jake responded when Stern claimed the show's producers were having a laugh. "It's just one of those things."

Calling Taylor a "beautiful girl," Jake also mentioned that he saw himself eventually marrying Swift down the line because he thinks "nothing is sexier than a woman who can play songs and write."

According to UPROXX, the interview also hit on other personal subjects like Heath Ledger's death and his Southpaw workout.
