Mike Mendez Talks 'Tales of Halloween' [Watch Trailer] 2015 Release Date News
It has been awhile since horror fans have seen a horror shorts collection since the days of Creepshow and possibly even Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez's Grindhouse. That's all about to change this October with Tales of Halloween. IMDB reports that, "Ten stories are woven together by their shared theme of Halloween night in an American suburb, where ghouls, imps, aliens and axe murderers appear for one night only to terrorize unsuspecting residents." Eleven directors are working together in order to bring this sensational idea to the big screen! Deadline announced, "With directors such as Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones) and Dave Parker (Masters Of Horror), I have my fingers crossed for some top quality frights and with all of the Halloween elements below being crammed into a mere 1.22, I don't think I'll be disappointed!" This brings a lot of big names together, whom not only love horror, but who have been successful at entertaining us with blood, gore and adventure. CraveOnline had an exclusive interview with Mike Mendez and he got to reveal a lot of what the collection will hold for the squeamish and for the bloodthirsty. Mendez explained to CraveOnline, "I wanted to see something I haven't seen on the big screen in a long time, and that was copious amounts of blood spray." It's clear that Mendez wants to appease horror fans and understands the disappointment that many of us face when October comes around and there are no good scary movies out to see in the theaters to really get into the season.
All horror movie fans will crave the collaboration of these talented folks. "Tales of Halloween brings together Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III & IV), Axelle Carolyn (Soulmate), Adam Gierasch (Night of the Demons), Andrew Kasch (Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy), Neil Marshall (The Descent), Lucky McKee (All Cheerleaders Die, The Woman), Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider!), Dave Parker (The Hills Run Red), Ryan Schifrin (Abominable), John Skipp (Stay at Home Dad), and Paul Solet (Grace)," reports CraveOnline.
Not only are all of these names together, but there has been a teaser recently released for your viewing pleasure on what you can prepare for this Halloween season. Mendez assures us through the CraveOnline interview that, "It's very gory laughs. Very bloody, macabre laughs. Dark laughs, but there's a fair amount of humor in this movie. But again, and a fair amount of decapitations. We try to balance it out for everybody." We are all super excited for the spooky time of year already and hope you are too! Check out the teaser here, but don't get too scared...yet!
