Robert Pattinson Dumps Kristen Stewart, Can't Forgive Cheating, Family Relieved: Parties at Australia Bar Sans Twilight Sweetheart
Several gossip reports confirm that Robert Pattinson has officially dumped his on-and-off again "Twilight" sweetheart, Kristen Stewart. Apparently the British heartthrob couldn't fully forgive K-Stew's cheating ways, and her avid attempts at rekindling the romance only felt suffocating and forced. R-Patz's family (who never supported the relationship after Stewart's shady summer fling with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders) is relieved by the news that Pattinson finally let her go. While rumors have it this is only a "trial separation," the "Cosmopolis" heartthrob seems to be enjoying the single life... he was recently spotted partying with some pals at an Australia bar, sans his "Twilight" sidekick.
Approximately six months after Stewart's highly-publicized summer infidelity, Pattinson finally realized that he needs more time to cope with the heartbreak... and his family totally agrees. According to an inside source at Grazia magazine - "No one would ever have told him what to do. But some people felt he never gave himself time to deal with what happened and heal. They think he has made the right choice...Rob thought it would be good for he and Kristen to visit his family in the UK over Christmas and New Year, but things were very frosty. Rob's family, especially his sisters, have found it hard to forgive the hurt and humiliation Kristen has caused him."
The final straw that really persuaded Pattinson to enforce a trial separation... that fact that Stewart recently signed up to star in the "SWATH" sequel (although Sanders won't be directing it). The inside source continues, "Kris thought it would be fine because Rupert is no longer working on the project, but Rob didn't feel the same way. That caused a major point of tension... In Rob's eyes, it's over. But Kristen just doesn't want to let go... She's hoping this is just a temporary split."
Another source for Hollywood Life speaks on Stewart's behalf - "Of course Kristen is bummed that Rob wants a trial separation. She honestly didn't see that coming. She was looking forward to spending some time with him in Australia. But she also knows she messed up with the whole Rupert [Sanders] thing... she just wishes Rob would move forward with the relationship instead of dwelling in the past... She definitely didn't want a trial separation, but she's willing to do whatever makes Rob happy. She's determined to make it work no matter it takes!"
Right after suggesting the trial separation, Pattinson jetted off to Australia to start work on his upcoming film "The Rover." And he seems to be doing just fine without K-Stew wrapped around his arm.
On Sunday (Jan. 20), R-Patz was spotted with a group of male friends partying at Adelaide's popular Zhivago bar. The "Twilight" heartthrob was photographed laughing and hanging out with pals... and he didn't seem too saddened by the fact that he just "temporarily" dumped Stewart.
