Teen Mom fans have always been curious as to how much the cast makes per season on hit reality show. While the girls are barred from discussing the details of their salary, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans recently opened up about her total earnings for starring in the MTV series and it's more than a half a million dollars!

In an interview with radio show Jared and Katie in the Morning for 107.5 KZL, the controversial reality star was asked if she has made over a million dollars for her time on the TV show. Her answer almost certainly shocked fans!

"I wouldn't really say that [I've made a million dollars]," she told the radio hosts, via The Ashley Reality Roundup. "I would say a little bit over maybe half [a million]? I'm not really allowed to discuss it."

Wow, over $500,000! No wonder MTV doesn't want the cast to discuss their salaries. The original premise of the show was to illustrate the hardships of being a young mom and this news doesn't help matters.

This is reminiscent of when current Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood had to reveal how much she makes in her contract with MTV. In 2010, a judge in her domestic abuse case with baby daddy, Gary Shirley, made her reveal her salary for starring on Teen Mom.

According to the Herald Bulletin, Amber said she makes $140,000 for a six-month deal with MTV, but for a whole year she makes $280,000.

As MStars News reported, Amber also revealed to Yahoo! TV how much the girls made for starring in the first show they were on, 16 & Pregnant.

"We only got, like, five thousand dollars but to us that was a lot at that time," little Leah's mom said.

"That paid for a lot of diapers ... At first, I did not want to sign up. I'm like, I've got everyone at home judging me already – why would I want the whole world judging me?" costar Maci Bookout added. "After talking with the producers extensively, I thought if I had been 16 and been able to watch myself on TV, I might not have ended up as a teen parent."

Do you think the Teen Mom girls get paid too much money?
