FX's 'The Strain' Season 3 Renewed: Guillermo Del Toro, Carlton Cuse Follow Dark Horse Comics?
Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, Season 3 of The Strain has been renewed by FX.Will the supernatural adventures of Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) continue to follow the Dark Horse Comics adaptation?
In our previous recap, after suffering a major loss at the hands of Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde), Gus (Miguel Gomez) found himself wandering th streets, until he recognized a former wrestler named The Silver Angel (Joaquin Cosio). While Abraham (David Bradley) and Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) attempted to convince Reggie Fitzwilliam (Roger Cross) to join their cause, Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) was arrested by the military police.
In our recent recap, Dutch and Nora finally met with Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis), who helped free Fet from custody. Continuing his search for the Occido Lumen, Abraham found himself teaming up with Reggie. While Eph headed off to Washington D.C., his vampire continues to search for their son. A new arrival may spark trouble in the war against The Master.
According to Deadline, the FX horror drama has been picked up for a third season, which will air the following summer. The Strain continues continues to be strong among the adults 18-49 demo and delivers solid DVR gains.
As The Hollywood Reporter mentions, showrunner Carlton Cuse discussed at the Television Critics Association press tour, "From the very beginning, we had really talked about the first book being the first season, the second book being the next two seasons and the third book the last two seasons. We've stuck to that game plan,"
Comic Book Resources reports, the final issue of The Strain: Night Eternal comic book series will hit stores on August 19. Check out the preview here:
