CC Sabathia is having one of the worst years in his career. With the New York Yankees he's 4-9 with a 5.23 ERA. It's a horrible slump for a guy with a lifetime era of 3.70 and has accumulated a total of 212 wins. Things got a little worse for Sabathia Monday night after TMZ posted footage of him shouting at hecklers outside a nightclub. It's unknown what the argument was over but Sabathia's friends ushered the pitcher into a car just before a melee broke out. Sabathia missed the worst of it by seconds.

When the video made its rounds Sabathia held a press conference at Yankee Stadium acknowledging what happened. He said his outburst was a "bad decision."

"Bad decision on my part," Sabathia said Monday. "I probably should have just kept quiet and got in the cab. I'm just glad I got in the cab before everything went down. But I didn't know anything that was happening. I didn't know that big fight and everything happened after.

"I think I was definitely lucky the other night, though, that I had friends to push me in a cab and cared enough about me to get me out of that situation," he continued.

You can watch Sabathia verbally go at it right here. It starts at the tail end of his tirade.

The incident took place Saturday night a few blocks away from the Rogers Centre. Sabathia was at a nightclub with his cousin and some friends and one of the friends told the New York Times Sabathia usually walks away from these situations. This was a rare occasion where he lashed out.

Sabathia was scheduled to pitch on Monday night but his start was moved to Tuesday. The Yankees are saying though that this wasn't because of the video but just a simple baseball move.
