The astrophysicist Carl Sagan continues to gain followers long after his death. These people come from high and low and his most mainstream fan might possibly be singer and songwriter Pharrell Williams. When it comes to Sagan, Williams has an odd request. According to the Smoking Gun, he requests a framed picture of Sagan before every show. Williams says the picture reminds him of how lucky we are to be on this planet.

Williams told Today that he was blown away by Sagan's show Cosmos as a child.

"I watched 'Cosmos' as a child and I was always blown away by (Sagan's) mind and the way he thought," he said. "When I look at that picture I realize how lucky we all are ... to be on this planet and be able to do what we love to do every day. Seeing Carl's face reminds me of it."

Also on Williams' rider is Patron tequila, Ketel One vodka, gluten-free bread and crackers, Pedialyte, Cetaphil cleansing wipes and lotion and a box of matches. The rider also says that certain items need to be "specifically cooked for him on a daily basis at the venues." These items include five possible fish dishes, beef stew with carrots and potatoes and grass fed Beef. If it isn't grass fed, he doesn't want it.

Other than food, the rider also states that a "well rested, sober" guard must be stationed near the tour vehicles at all times. He also says the worker must be "less concerned with texting or twittering than keeping fans/stalkers from infiltrating the venue and work areas therein."

The rider also covers those in his touring party. Most are on the Atkins Diet.
