Kevin Bacon, 'Cop Car' Star and Philanthropist, Talks 6 Degrees of Separation [WATCH VIDEO]
Kevin Bacon, Cop Car actor and producer, doesn't just work on projects, but really keeps himself busy with philanthropy acts and even uses the "Six Degrees of Separation" himself! He was recently serenaded by a woman named Linda, 68, when he delivered her her meal through Encore Community Services senior center. Bacon had been "preparing and packing meals for home-bound elderly people before heading out to personally deliver them with Citymeals-on-Wheels," Page Six says. She supposedly sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler and "Kevin thanked her and said the song was great," Page Six continues.
Bacon has been the star of USA's The Following for the past three seasons as the lead detective Ryan Hardy chasing a serial killer who has a personal vendetta against him. In addition, Cop Car "started trickling out in a few theatres earlier this month. Like many of these films, it will be in and out of whatever venues agree to play a VOD movie, but it is a must for anyone who cares about great filmmaking no matter how you find a way to see it," Deadline says. Bacon plays Sheriff Kretzer whose cop car is stolen by two young boys who attempt to have a day of fun by taking it for a joyride.
Even after all his effort and work with good causes and churning out new films, all the while starring in a successful TV show, Bacon stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden. The Following star admitted that he even uses his own "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" strategy in order to figure out if he's already worked with a person when doing a new project. This is so as to avoid an awkward situation. He claims to go online and type in the person's name that appears on the call sheet and finds out the "Bacon number." "'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon' combined with an adept internet search comes in quite handy. The actor said that after years working with so many colleagues, it's hard to remember them all. So he uses the six degrees game to his advantage with an internet search. 'That will tell you how many degrees of separation they are and it'll tell you like, if I've worked with them,' said Bacon. He explained that it helps him avoid awkward moments with fellow actors in the makeup trailer," Yahoo! News reports.
