Though he's close to the top, the 23-year-old is certainly the number one marketable players in the world and was the face of the 2014 World Cup games in Brazil. So will the striker make the move to the Premier League for a record-breaking offer from Manchester United, like reports suggest, or will a new contract and increased buyout clause with Barcelona FC keep him in La Liga? The consensus concerning Neymar's possible move to the Premier League is that Barcelona isn't willing to get rid of the top player, but Manchester is bidding millions upon millions for the chance to land him (via The Daily Mail / Straits Times). More recent reports are saying Barcelona is drafting a new contract for Neymar, with a buyout clause that would deter even the richest clubs of the world. The European Champions are definitely trying to hold onto the goal-scorer, according to Goal.com.
We're assuming that Manchester United will still pursue Neymar until they cannot anymore, but coach Louis Van Gaal isn't revealing anything. His most recent press conference has us all yearning for answers.
"I have to protect the interests of Manchester United, I have to protect the players in my selection, I have to protect the people in my organization, and you can say anything, you can mention every player but I cannot answer these questions," the manager said, according to Goal.com. "So that's the difficulty. I know your problem because the media wants to know that but I cannot say that."
Other reports are saying Gareth Bale is on United's most wanted list as well.
