Premier League Transfers, Paul Pogba Chelsea News: Window Closes with Last Mintue Deals, Bids

September 1, 2015 is Deadline Day, and we're closing in on the final hours of the transfer window for trades, bids, contracts, deals and more. Our eyes have been on the Premier League's biggest rumors, including Juventus defensive midfielder Paul Pogba transferring to defending BPL champions Chelsea FC. Coach Jose Mourinho has kept his mouth shut concerning the player and this rumor, but Deadline Day is sure to give fans of the player and the teams a strong answer by 1 PM EST, when the transfer window officially closes. We can confirm that Chelsea has signed at least one top prospect today: Senegal  defender Papy Djilobodji. Papy is said to take the place of John Stones, whose deal fell apart late in the transfer window when Everton refused Chelsea's bid and Stones' transfer request. It was a big mess that ended poorly in regards to sportsmanship between the teams, but Chelsea made out like thieves with the Senegal player's deal.

Another player in talks to join Chelsea is Guangzhou Evergrande defender Zhang Linpeng. This deal might fade away since the champions already signed Papy, but we'll find out for sure today.

The big story though is Pogba, who allegedly flew to England earlier this week to talk terms with Chelsea. According to Bleacher Report, Juventus could let Pogba go since "capturing" Inter Milan midfielder Hernanes, but the player comes at a hefty price. Fortunately, Chelsea is willing to deal out the big bucks for the player.

It looks like Chelsea's loss to Crystal Palace this weekend has the champions desperate for new strength in defense. The recent signings of Pedro and Radamel Falcao have already benefitted the team in terms of scoring, but replacing the aging defenders is key for Mourinho.
