Where were you on Sept. 13, 1985? Either you weren't alive or were just about to watch history take place as the first shipment of Super Mario Brothers first hit stores. For more than 30 years the adventurous plumber has lived through countless sequels, dinosaur invasions, an on-and-off relationship with Princess Peach, and on some occasions, he has scavenged the far ends of the universe. In honor of Nintendo's biggest star Google has decided to pay tribute to a character who should be in everyone's top 5. Their easter egg tribute is an easy one to discover and we're here to show you how.

First, you have to of course head to Google. Once you're there put "Super Mario Bros" into the search bar. Right under the images of Mario you'll see a coin box. Hit the coin box and you'll be treated to some coins and 200 points. The points can't really be traded anywhere and they hold zero value in the end, but it's just a cool thing to do if you need to kill 35 seconds.

In case you don't have the ability to get on a laptop and be as cool as everyone else here's a video of the coin box. Click below to check it out:

Google has always paid tribute to its favorite gaming heroes. On March 31, the company set up Pac-Man onGoogle Maps. Back on April 2014 they added catchable Pokemon to the iOS and Android versions of Google Maps and in 2011, the Google search bar did a barrel roll if you typed in the Star Fox phrase.

In the future, what games and characters would you like Google to pay tribute to? Maybe they can get into some Kirby action or Donkey Kong? Let us know your thoughts below!
