While some long-term couples might have courteously uncoupled in the past, it doesn't seem like Gwen Stefani and her former husband Gavin Rossdale will be following in the amicably footsteps of those who have come before them. It seems that the tension between The Voice coach and her ex has reached an all-time high as the divorce proceedings get underway. It turns out that the drama between the couple is all stemming from them not having a prenup prior to getting married, and now that things have gone south, the drama is getting pretty brutal as the fight escalates over more than $60 million, greater than half of Stefani's $120 million fortune.

According to Radar Online, Rossdale feels that he is more than entitled to a large portion of Stefani's money because while she was building her career, his took a backseat to care for their three kids, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo.

"Gavin is now demanding more than half of her fortune," a source explained to The Inquistr. "He has complained that while Gwen was launching her successful clothing line, continuing her music career, and expanding her brand by appearing as a judge on The Voice, he stayed home with their sons."

Yet, it seems like the real issue is coming from the No Doubt singer because at the start of the divorce proceedings the musician promised not to go after the starlet's $120 million fortune, according to Life & Style.

"Gwen if furious because at the outset of the divorce, Gavin said he wouldn't go after her money," the insider explained. "She is just kicking herself for not getting a prenup."

Things might even be turning stickier in the future, as it is being reported that Rossdale could also possibly be bringing the case to trial.

"Gavin is even threating to go to trial if he isn't given a chunk of Gwen's fortune," an insider explained, adding, "he will ask for child and spousal support as well."
