Taran Killam’s Donald Trump Impression on ‘SNL’ Premiere: Republican Responds on Twitter

Saturday marked the premiere of SNL Season 41. Un-shockingly enough, the Miley Cyrus-hosted episode kicked off with a spoof about current Republican frontrunner Donald Trump. The former Celebrity Apprentice star was portrayed by none other than key player Taran Killam with Cecily Strong at his side playing Trump's wife, Melania. Afterwards, the real Trump had some words to say on Twitter...

...through someone else's words.

In fact, Trump hasn't really responded to Killam's impression himself, other than quoting a couple of tweets left by his followers. Which, as we all can agree, is pretty shocking:

The bit, A Message from Donald & Melania Trump, showed the two side-by-side in their oh-so-gaudy-looking Trump Tower apartment. Killam, as Trump, hit several topics that have kept the billionaire in the headlines of nearly every outlet in both print and online––his comments regarding Megyn Kelly, immigrants and women, to name a few.

This was the first time we were able to see Killam as Trump, as it was just announced over the summer that he'd be stepping in for the impression. And from the glimpse last night, it looks like Darrell Hammond might have some competition.

So, thoughts?
