FOX's sci-fi series, Minority Report has reportedly cut three episodes from its original first season 10-episode order. Following its dismal Monday night ratings, recently having just over 2 million viewers, FOX reduced the episodes and have yet to announce a decision on cancelling the series.

Minority Report was always scheduled for ten episodes with plans of its tenth week serving as a big finale. After a fall hiatus, there were plans to add three more episodes to production with a possible extension depending on how the series fared. Sources who are close to the show have shared that viewers will at least still have a true finale in the last episode of this season.

The FOX series, based on the 2002 Steven Spielberg movie, is set 15 years after the events of the storyline. The use of Pre-cogs to predict crimes is now outlawed by police and the three Pre-cogs, Agatha (Laura Regan), Arthur (Nick Zano) and Dash (Stark Sands) are all leading normal lives outside of the public eye of Washington D.C. Although they are still able to see murders before they happen, Agatha and Arthur choose to no longer aid the police, who they felt kept them hostage throughout their childhood. Dash, however, still feels committed to saving others with his gift and secretly partners with Detective Lara Vega (Meagan Good) to help avoid disaster.

Critics of the show haven't helped attract viewers to begin watching. Many reviews have criticized the show's lack of imagination and inability to come close to the original movie's highbar expectations. Over the next seven episodes, Minority Report will need to work hard to claim its spot in FOX's lineup for a second season.

Minority Report airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. on FOX.
