In the wake of yet more mass shootings, the gun control debate is a heavy topic. Saturday Night Live'Weekend Update took to the issue on this past Saturday's episode, with host Amy Schumer, as anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che weighed in with their thoughts on on the issue.

The two hosts, as far as the bit went, appeared to be going back and forth with the topic, with Che expressing that there is a gun for nearly every "man, woman and child" in the country. He equated the amount of guns to that of the amount used during a rap beef.

Jost, on the other hand, explained that he agrees the United States has too many guns. However, he notes that it is our obsession with things that we merely do not need which keeps gun supporters siding for their guns.

"We don't need a Baconator," Jost said. "We don't need a beer that's a margarita that's inside a beer. And we definitely don't need our dogs to wear Halloween costume." But of course, we do indeed have them.

To that, Che called for mere regulation and limits in regards to guns, stating that it's easier to get a gun than it is to get a GED, a driver's license and tickets to a Kevin Hart show. And despite the truth behind it, Jost felt that the actual action of limiting guns will be extremely difficult, especially because then Mayor Michael Bloomberg had a rather arduous time limiting the soda intake of New York City denizens.

Which led to Michael Che's pretty wonderful shut down to the argument. For the gun control debate, skip over to the two-minute mark.

So, does Che have a point: Is the U.S. Constitution like our grandfather?
