MC Hammer Arrested: Rapper Allegedly Obstructed a Officer, Tweets "Chubby Elvis Looking Dude"

Rapper MC Hammer was arrested in northern California Thursday for allegedly obstructing an officer and took to Twitter on Saturday to get his side of the story out there. The 50-year-old Hammer (real name Stanley Burrell), was reportedly in a vehicle with expired registration and he was not the registered owner, either according to police. Spokesman Herb Walters told CNN, "After asking Hammer who the registered owner was he became very argumentative and refused to answer the officer's questions." MC Hammer tweeted the following messages on his Twitter account:

Hammer continued tweeting about the incident, saying he was on his way "to San Quentin Friday morning to congratulate a group of inmates in 'The Last Mile.'" This is a program helping inmates leaving prison to "bridge the gap" between the two worlds. He also added that despite being arrested his main concern was an injection that the police told him was a "skin test."

We all remember MC Hammer's 1990 hit "U Can't Touch This," and his iconic dance moves in the music video and at his concerts. Hammer notoriously went bankrupt soon after but has recently been enjoying career resurgence.
