Bill Cosby Degrees Stripped: Tufts, Goucher Pull Accolades Due to Sexual Assault Allegations

It seems that with each passing day there's another piece of news about comedian Bill Cosby and his sexual assault allegations. Two more colleges have reportedly revoked his honorary degrees: Tufts University and Goucher College.

Cosby received an honorary doctorate of arts from Tufts back in 2000, as well as an award in 2011 for his work in "children's media," per a report from The Guardian. Goucher College, located in Baltimore, reportedly awarded the comedian with a degree a year after Tufts, in 2001, after he delivered the school's commencement address.

The report further notes that Tufts president Anthony Monaco cited Cosby's "lack of character and integrity" to be the reason for the degree being removed. Goucher president Jose Antonio Bowen wrote, in similar fashion, that it was "unanimously decided that Cosby's admitted actions are in direct violation of values Goucher holds dear, including our community principles of respect, communication, and responsibility."

Basically both of these colleges don't appreciate sexual abuse, as it should be.

Bowen further explained that Goucher proudly takes a "consistent stand" against sexual wrongdoings and had the college been aware of Cosby's past misconducts they certainly would not have given him such an honor.

Cosby has had over 35 women come out against him after comedian Hannibal Buress was filmed in a random club last year calling Cosby out for being "a rapist," as he said.
