Jimmy Fallon Explains Hand Injury on ‘Tonight Show’ After Harvard Lampoon Award Fall

For the second time in a few months, comedian Jimmy Fallon had to explain to his Tonight Show viewers how he hurt his hand. This time, however, there was no ring avulsion like the first incident; instead, Fallon hurt his right hand over the weekend from tripping over a woman after receiving an award from the Harvard Lampoon for his excellence in comedy.

The Tonight Show host took to his desk to explain just went down on Saturday night when, well, he went down.

From the story, it appears like an innocent mistake. Fallon was up at Harvard receiving the Elmer Award. After being inducted by the Lampoon, he was at the after party and decided to joke with the group by offering them an award of their own—a bottle of Jägermeister.

Unfortunately, as he went to grab the bottle he had no clue a woman had sneaked up behind him and knelt down in order to present him with a flower (supposedly). Therefore, Fallon spun around and tripped over the aforementioned flower-giver.

In order to not hurt his already petty mutilated hand – you know, the one with ring avulsion (but do not Google it!) – he dropped the bottle of Jägermeister and landed on the floor, hand first, cutting himself.

After a trip to the hospital, all appeared fine. At least, that's what his Instagram photo claims:
