With the CMA Awards coming up in exactly a week, it seems that all eyes are going to be fixated on Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, which is something that The Voice coach is well aware of. This will be the first time that the royal couple of country won't be walking down the red carpet together in eight years, and it is something that fans and fellow country stars are going to be felling when they take their seats. However, it seems that to address the elephant in the room, Shelton has already given hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood permission to poke fun of him, which he told Seth Meyer, while he was a guest on his late night show.

According to Us Weekly, the star knows that he will be the punchline of some of the jokes during the opening monologue, saying that he knows it's coming.

"This year's gonna be awkward at the CMAs, speaking of jokes," Shelton told Meyers. "Because we are, it's such a family. Everybody there is friends. There's gotta be one about me and Miranda. Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn't look down there and go 'Ha ha!' You have to address the elephant in the room. We've had the conversations like, 'Okay, dude. I'll sit there and let you kick me in the face a few times.' I know it's coming."

Yet despite the hardship that the star has gone through over the last couple of months, he has maintained his fun loving attitude, even poking fun of the rumors that he has started a love affair with Voice mentor Rihanna.

According to PEOPLE, Shelton says that he has come up with some celebrity names for the couple.

"She's such a smart-ass," he said of Rihanna. "I never could get the upper hand with her. I was trying to get her to be a bit flirty, I mean, why not? I'm a perfect match for Rihanna. And so I was coming up with our couple name 'Blihanna' was one of them and 'Rake.'"
