Stephen Colbert Slams Donald Trump Failed Marriages, Challenges GOP Candidate to $1M Donation

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump recently came under fire – which really isn't so surprising – when he mentioned to Today Show host Matt Lauer that his father gave him a "small loan" of $1 million to get his start in Manhattan. Well, Late Show host Stephen Colbert heard this and decided to: 1) acknowledge the fact that Mr. Trump's problem with numbers stretches back to his failed marriages, and 2) ask the former GOP frontrunner for a small donation, of $1 million, to help out The Harlem Children's Zone.

"You heard right," Colbert said. "Donald Trump calls a million dollars 'a small loan.'" The former Report host then told us to remember that Trump is "the same guy that thinks three is a small number of wives."

For the record, here's Trump's father – the man who gave him that teeny, tiny loan – Fred Trump:

"Tonight I'm happy to announce that I've taken the liberty of writing a million dollar check from Donald Trump to the charity of my choice, the Harlem Children's Zone," Colbert said, showing the crowd a large check.

You know, one of those checks you always see people getting at tournaments but never actually get to see in real life.

Looking at the check, it's pretty legit all the way down to the memo, which read "no big deal."

Colbert's taping came before the actual GOP debate on Wednesday night so he was unable to discuss what went down. Of course, we're expecting an entire segment dedicated to the event's happenings on tonight's episode—especially that time Texas Senator Ted Cruz called out the CNBC moderators for being, well, bad at their jobs.
